East Asia, Increased Competitiveness with Consecutive Construction Plant Orders
Substation Civil Engineering, Incinerator and Waste Storage Warehouse Installation Projects Secured Consecutively
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Jong-hwa] 'Dongyang,' a subsidiary of Eugene Group, is continuing its steady growth by consecutively winning construction plant business orders. On the 6th, Dongyang announced that it had secured the '345kV Godeok#2 Substation Civil Engineering Project' worth approximately 18.3 billion KRW, commissioned by Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO).
This project involves civil engineering works for electrical supply facilities (substation) to provide power demand supply due to the development of the Godeok Internationalization Planning District in Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, and to alleviate overload at surrounding substations. In this construction, Dongyang will perform the construction of a steel frame and reinforced concrete structure (SRC structure) with one basement floor and four above-ground floors as a turnkey contract. The construction period is a total of 25 months, with completion scheduled for November 2022.
Notably, this order marks Dongyang's first substation civil engineering project, which is significant as it secures future opportunities for related construction orders.
Dongyang is also continuing to receive good news in the plant business. At the end of last month, it confirmed the order for the 'Stoker (STOKER) Incinerator & Waste Storage Warehouse Installation Project' commissioned by KG ETS. This contract includes the replacement of the existing waste incinerator, construction of a new wastewater treatment plant, and improvement of the waste storage building. The project site is located within the Siheung Industrial Complex in Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do. The main contract is scheduled to be signed this month, with completion targeted for December 2022.
In this project, Dongyang will be responsible for the 'general and designated waste storage building improvement civil engineering works,' 'replacement of stoker incinerators (125t/day × 2 units),' and 'construction of a new wastewater treatment plant (800t/day)'.
Dongyang's environmental plant business has accumulated technology in the incineration and air environment plant sector by performing projects such as industrial waste incineration facilities, combustion gas treatment facilities for incineration and power generation plants, dust collection facilities for various processes including cement and steel manufacturing, and denitrification facility improvement works.
In particular, Dongyang has localized most of the technologies in the air pollution prevention equipment field, securing outstanding competitiveness in incineration facilities, combustion gas treatment facilities, desulfurization/denitrification facilities, and dust collection facilities.
