According to the gaming industry on the 6th, 'Idle Princess' by I&V Games, released on the 17th of last month, is an RPG (role-playing game) about raising a girl. However, users are criticizing the game for scenes that sexualize the girl character.
In the game, a girl of about first-grade elementary school age appears wearing revealing clothes or in a defensive posture as if resisting someone forcibly removing her clothes.
Additionally, somewhat explicit lines such as "You want to see my panties that badly?", "I want to bathe with dad," and "Since you're not my real dad, it's okay, right?" have drawn criticism from users accusing the game of promoting pedophilia.
In response to the controversy, the game company issued an official apology and announced that the game's age rating, originally 15+, will be changed to 18+.
Lee Haeseok, CEO of I&V Games, said, "We apologize to users who felt discomfort with the game settings and some character depictions," adding, "We recognize the inappropriateness of some character concepts and the seriousness of the issue and are currently taking immediate corrective measures."
