According to the Ministry of National Defense, Minister Seo stated at an emergency major commanders' meeting held via video conference that afternoon, "Thoroughly implement follow-up measures to prevent further spread to the local community and other soldiers." The daily quarantine rules include habitual mask-wearing, refraining from using crowded and close-contact facilities, and social distancing.
Minister Seo urged, "Pay attention to soldier education so that soldiers can promptly report and receive measures even if they have mild symptoms." He also emphasized re-examining the military's response system amid the prolonged COVID-19 situation, strengthening cooperation with the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency and local governments, and firmly maintaining military readiness under thorough quarantine measures.
