Daegu Fire Headquarters Receives 'Phone Blaze' During Chuseok Holiday... 119 Calls Every 49 Seconds
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Dong-wook] The Daegu Fire Safety Headquarters announced on the 5th that during the Chuseok holiday (September 30 to October 4), they received 8,843 reports related to fires, rescues, and emergency medical services, responded to 2,321 cases, and rescued or transported 1,139 people to hospitals.
There were 12 fire incidents, including suspected arson, resulting in 3 casualties and property damage worth approximately 71.03 million KRW. Compared to the Chuseok holiday period last year, the average daily fire responses increased by 1 case, and property damage also increased by 10.65 million KRW.
In rescue operations, they responded to 391 cases and rescued 77 people. Compared to the Chuseok holiday period last year, the average daily number of rescued individuals decreased by 12% (2 people). Compared to weekdays in 2020 (12 people), it increased by 25% (3 people) on average daily.
Emergency medical services responded to 1,769 cases, providing first aid and transporting 1,062 people to hospitals. Compared to the previous year, the average daily emergency responses decreased by 8% (17 cases), and the number of people receiving first aid and transport decreased by 8% (18 people). However, compared to 197 people on weekdays in 2020, it increased by 7.6% (15 people) on average daily.
Emergency consultations totaled 2,623 cases, a 31% (240 cases) decrease in average daily consultations compared to the previous year. Among these, 80.9% (2,121 cases) were hospital and pharmacy guidance, 15.1% (397 cases) were first aid and medical guidance, and 4% (105 cases) were disease consultations.
