Democratic Party Gwangju Chapter "Leading the Era of Change... Taking the Lead for the Gwangju Community"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Metropolitan City Party of the Democratic Party of Korea has identified this year’s Chuseok public sentiment as “expectations and encouragement to always do better by staying close to the people.”
The Democratic Party’s Gwangju City Party announced on the 4th that this Chuseok public sentiment mainly focused on livelihood, quarantine, and diplomacy.
The Gwangju City Party stated, “There were many voices asking to prioritize and devote efforts to livelihood during this unprecedented era of crisis,” adding, “There was a strong wish for the early end of COVID-19, and alongside criticism of the opposition party’s reckless political attacks attempting to politicize the West Sea civilian shooting incident, there was also a demand to repeatedly emphasize that peace is the economy.”
They also said, “There were many calls to achieve bold reforms together with President Moon Jae-in and to swiftly overcome the current crises,” emphasizing, “We confirmed that interest in the re-creation of the administration is also rising around Chuseok.”
