Seoul Reports 26 New COVID-19 Cases Yesterday... 6 Cases Clustered at Mapo Seoul Design High School

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] On the third day of the Chuseok holiday, the 2nd, 26 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 were reported in Seoul. There were also 2 deaths in the Seoul area.
Seoul City announced that as of 12:00 AM on the 3rd, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 26 from the previous day, bringing the total cumulative confirmed cases in Seoul to 5,360.
Among the new confirmed cases, 12 were from Dana Hospital in Dobong-gu. This hospital has been under cohort isolation since two inpatients were first confirmed positive on the 28th of last month. The cumulative number of confirmed cases related to this hospital is currently 45.
At Seoul Design High School in Mapo-gu, 4 people were confirmed positive the day before. The first confirmed case related to this school was reported on the 30th of last month, and the cumulative number of confirmed cases reached 6 as of the previous day. The school has switched all classes to online until the 13th.
Additionally, there was an increase of one confirmed case each related to Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance in Gangnam-gu (cumulative 3 cases) and Yangcheon Police Station (cumulative 5 cases).
There was 1 confirmed case infected through overseas contact, 1 through contact with confirmed cases from other cities or provinces, 1 from other infection routes, and 5 cases whose infection routes are still under investigation.
The number of COVID-19 deaths in Seoul increased by 2, bringing the total to 59. The deaths reported the previous day were patients who were confirmed positive on the 11th and 12th of last month and had been receiving inpatient treatment at the Red Cross Hospital and the National Medical Center, respectively.
So far, 4,456 people in Seoul have been declared recovered and discharged, and 845 are currently receiving isolation treatment.
