Jeonnam Province's Administrative Service 'Finding Ancestral Land' Receives Great Response
Applications Increase Due to Real Estate Special Act... Reaching 415 Billion Won in One Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeollanam-do announced on the 2nd that the "Finding Ancestral Land" service is receiving great response from Jeonnam residents ahead of the Chuseok holiday.
"Finding Ancestral Land" is an administrative service that allows users to check nationwide land ownership status in cases where property management has been neglected or ancestral land ownership is unknown.
Applications can be made free of charge at the nearest city or county office civil service center regardless of the location of the land or residence. Landowners must present an ID card, and heirs must submit a family register extract or family relationship certificate along with a basic certificate.
Additionally, if the deceased passed away before January 1, 1960, the head of household heir can apply; if after that date, the spouse or direct descendants may apply.
Jeonnam Province reported that over the past year, it helped about 15,000 people find land totaling 37,751,000㎡. Applying the average individual official land price in Jeonnam of 10,999 KRW/㎡, this amounts to approximately 415 billion KRW.
In particular, since the enactment of the "Special Act on Real Estate Ownership Transfer Registration, etc." on August 5, opportunities for ownership transfer have increased, leading to a rise in applications for the "Finding Ancestral Land" service.
Properties such as land or apartments owned by individuals can be checked without visiting an institution by using the "Find My Land Service" on the Onnara Real Estate Portal (seereal.lh.or.kr).
