It regained normal output just three days after restarting.
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. (KHNP) Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters announced, “We completed the inspection of the power system for the 1 million kW pressurized water reactor Shin-Kori Unit 2, which was shut down on September 3, and resumed power generation at 10:25 a.m. on September 30. On October 2 at 4:30 a.m., it reached 100% of normal reactor output.”

A Gori Nuclear Power Headquarters official said, “The reinforcement work on the transmission and distribution lines, which caused the Shin-Kori Unit 2 reactor shutdown, has been completed, and it is currently operating normally. To prevent recurrence of similar cases during future typhoons, we plan to establish and implement measures to improve the reliability of power facilities.”
