The Galaxy Tab S7 product planners carried Styrofoam with them for a while, both at home and in the office. They installed air purifiers in every room and refined the tablet corners to find the perfect size. The Galaxy Tab S7, born from this process, has received favorable reviews with sales more than triple those of its predecessor.
On the 28th, at Samsung Electronics’ Seocho building, wireless business division product planning team professionals Jo Daehee and Ahn Jinhee said, "The Galaxy Tab S7 series was released in 11-inch and 12.4-inch large screens to provide three experiences: a 'viewing experience' with a large screen, a 'writing experience' with note-taking or drawing using the S Pen, and 'productivity' by attaching a keyboard to work like a laptop." They added, "It was truly rewarding when it was evaluated as the best model among all Galaxy Tabs."
The secret to triple sales: large screen, writing experience, productivity
Since its official release on the 3rd, the Galaxy Tab S7 series has achieved sales more than three times those of its predecessor in South Korea. During last month’s pre-order, it sold out online on the first day, selling over 2.5 times more than the previous model. The Galaxy Tab series, which had been overshadowed by smartphones, has been re-evaluated and opened a new chapter for Android tablets. Foreign media praised it as "the best screen among Android tablets."
The Galaxy Tab S7 reflects the trends of the MZ generation, who consume videos, take notes, and draw digitally. In particular, some ideas for improving Samsung Notes and the S Pen functions came from university students. Jo said, "The source of planning starts with analyzing consumer patterns," explaining, "We implemented the ability to annotate PDF files based on feedback that students no longer print textbooks but download files for classes. The 'Audio Bookmark' feature was created to allow users to listen simultaneously to notes taken during lectures and recorded lectures."
Ahn added, "The S Pen provides a writing feel like a real pen; pressing harder produces thicker lines, and favorite pen settings can be saved. While the Note series’ pen is small and thin, the tablet’s S Pen is designed to be comfortable for long use on a large screen."
Attach a keyboard and use it like a laptop
The Galaxy Tab S7’s secret weapon is the keyboard cover. When working on documents, attaching the keyboard transforms it into a laptop. Jo explained, "Pressing the DeX key immediately switches to 'tablet mode,' allowing it to be used like a Windows 10-installed laptop. While the DeX function on Galaxy phones connects to a TV to display on a large screen, the tablet itself can be used like a PC, and the keyboard cover completes the essence of the tablet." Samsung Electronics also plans to add a feature that allows the Galaxy Tab S7 to be used as a dual monitor in conjunction with laptops and PCs.
Responding to opinions that there are fewer tablet-specific apps compared to competitors, Samsung pre-installed note-taking, drawing, and design apps on the Galaxy Tab S7. Ahn said, "By providing apps that were previously sold separately as default, it has been evaluated that the number of useful apps has increased," expressing confidence, "If the Big Hit tablet product line expands, the ecosystem will grow further."

Jo said, "To capture the eyes and ears of trendsetting users, it is important to reflect the experiences they want in the product in advance. We pay close attention not only to the product but also to color and lifestyle trends," adding, "We carefully read communities and reviews, thinking about how to expand the experiences that tablets used to provide on their own."
