Detailed Addresses Assigned to One-Room, Detached, and Multi-Housing Units in Gwanak-gu
This Year, 946 Locations Granted Detailed Addresses by Authority for Quick Mail Receipt and Emergency Response...Improving Resident Address Convenience with Detailed Addresses, Free Number Plate Installation Service
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee) has assigned detailed addresses to multi-family houses and one-room units without building, floor, and unit numbers to facilitate residents' use of addresses.
A detailed address refers to an official address that can be registered for resident registration and other purposes by assigning building, floor, and unit numbers to one-room units and multi-family houses, similar to apartments and row houses.
Unlike apartment complexes and multi-unit houses that have building, floor, and unit numbers recorded in the building register, multi-family houses and commercial buildings lacked detailed addresses to distinguish individual households, causing difficulties in receiving mail and responding promptly in emergencies.
The district is promoting a project to activate detailed addresses and make them convenient for residents by not only accepting applications from building owners but also conducting on-site investigations and assigning addresses ex officio after consulting with owners and tenants.
Following 552 locations in 2018 and 568 locations in 2019, this year detailed address number plates indicating unit numbers have been expanded to 946 locations, enabling residents such as landlords and tenants to conveniently use road name addresses.
Meanwhile, detailed addresses can be applied for through the government civil service portal Government24 website or by visiting the Gwanak-gu Office directly. For related inquiries, contact the Gwanak-gu Office Cadastral Division for guidance.
