Tae Young-ho: "Now is not the time to talk about a declaration of the end of the war... We must push for a resolution condemning North Korea and refer it to the Security Council"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Tae Young-ho, a member of the People Power Party, emphasized that regarding the Yeonpyeong Island shelling incident, "This is not the time to talk about a declaration of the end of the war; rather, the National Assembly should push for a resolution condemning North Korea," and that the Blue House must clarify whether President Moon Jae-in made the 'declaration of the end of the war' statement after being briefed on this incident.
On the 24th, Tae said on Facebook, "North Korea has evidently not changed. Will they remain silent this time as well?"
He pointed out, "It is said that this fact was reported to the Minister of National Defense around 11 a.m. on the 22nd," and added, "Coincidentally, in the early hours of the next day, the 23rd, President Moon Jae-in delivered a UN General Assembly speech advocating for a declaration of the end of the war. First, the Blue House must clarify whether this matter was reported to President Moon on the night of the 22nd."
Tae said, "The government still seems to be cautious of North Korea even as our citizens are dying," and added, "The government should now disclose all the information it has to remove suspicions and strive to reveal the truth."
He emphasized, "Our government should urge North Korea to form a joint investigation team and clearly uncover the incident to alleviate our citizens' doubts and anger," and added, "If North Korea is to consider future inter-Korean relations, it must boldly agree to the formation of a joint investigation team."
He continued, "In June, the Inter-Korean Liaison Office, which is the property of our citizens, was blown up without a trace. Our government has taken no effective measures regarding this. This time, our citizens have died," and added, "Our government should promptly refer this incident along with the previous Inter-Korean Liaison Office bombing to the UN Security Council."
