Fresh Easy Signs MOU with Listed Dining Company Didim to Expand RMR Business

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Fresh Easy, the number one company in the meal kit market share, announced on the 23rd that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with dining specialist company Didim on the 22nd to develop restaurant meal replacement (RMR) products.
This MOU involves collaboration across various business areas, including the development of diverse types of restaurant meal replacement products, food ingredient distribution, and joint development of new meal replacement brands, combining Fresh Easy's ready meal production capabilities with Didim's famous dining brands.
Didim is a dining specialist company with over 500 stores nationwide, including directly operated and franchise stores, and owns various famous dining brands such as 'Mapo Galmaegi' and 'Yeonan Sikdang.' Didim, through this business agreement, will provide Fresh Easy with recipes and exclusive ingredients for its signature menus and plans to generate new revenue for directly operated and franchise stores by jointly developing various restaurant meal replacement products and launching new meal replacement brands.
Fresh Easy will provide Didim with product planning and manufacturing capabilities as well as distribution channel sales know-how through the business agreement and will supply food ingredients such as pre-processed vegetables and B2B meal kits to each dining brand. As the first collaborative product with Didim, Fresh Easy plans to purchase raw cockle materials worth approximately 5 billion KRW, which are actually used in Yeonan Sikdang stores, and introduce side dish products.
Fresh Easy is a comprehensive food company with production capabilities for a total of 500 products, including its representative meal kits, pre-processed vegetables, salads, meats, sauces, retort foods, and side dishes. It operates B2C businesses such as meal kit manufacturing and sales, as well as B2B businesses producing OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) and ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) products for large corporate brands and dining companies. Additionally, as a leading company in the meal kit market, it is expanding its business area to include food ingredient supply based on economies of scale. This MOU is a business agreement covering Fresh Easy's entire business area, including food ingredient supply, processing, and production, and significant synergy effects are expected between the two companies.
