K-Startup to Shine at International Startup Conference 'Slush 2020'
40 Domestic Startups Participate... National Brand 'K-Startup' Integrated Hall Residency
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The first overseas startup exhibition utilizing the national brand representing domestic startups, 'K-Startup,' will be held. The Ministry of SMEs and Startups (Minister Park Young-sun, hereinafter referred to as the Ministry) announced that 40 domestic startups will participate in the Finland International Startup Conference 'SLUSH 2020,' held from the 22nd to December 3rd.
'SLUSH 2020' is a leading European startup event that began in 2008, bringing together startups and investors from around the world. Initially, due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), it was announced in April that the event would not be held this year, but it was later changed to a fully online event.
Participating startups will take part in the main event starting on the opening day, including investor meetings, networking events, and presentation competitions. Additionally, promotional videos and introduction materials for each company will be exhibited in the online exhibition hall. The online exhibition hall will be operated for a certain period by country, and the Korean exhibition hall will be open for four weeks from next month, October 19th to November 13th. The 40 domestic startups participating in this 'SLUSH 2020' were selected through five support organizations, including the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development and the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation, and the specific list of participating companies will be disclosed when the Korean exhibition hall opens.
