Coupang Namyangju 2 Camp Resumes Operations with No Additional Confirmed Cases
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] Coupang announced on the 20th that there were no additional confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Namyangju2 Camp, and the camp has resumed operations. According to Coupang, all 12 individuals tested in connection with the confirmed case at Namyangju2 Camp tested negative. Accordingly, Namyangju2 Camp resumed operations on the 19th after consultation with health authorities.
Earlier, Coupang took immediate necessary measures, including closing the camp, after being notified on the 18th that a COVID-19 case had been confirmed at Namyangju2 Camp. The confirmed case is affiliated with a partner company responsible for sorting work at Namyangju2 Camp. The confirmed individual’s family attended a seminar held by 'Donghoon Industrial Development,' a real estate company in Gangnam-gu where a cluster infection occurred, and was subsequently diagnosed positive. The Namyangju2 Camp confirmed case was tested immediately on the morning of the 18th upon hearing of the family member’s positive diagnosis and was confirmed positive in the afternoon.
