KF Announces 'K-pop Innovation' in Europe During the COVID-19 Era
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] KF (Korea Foundation) announced that it will jointly host the ‘KF-Asia Society Switzerland Virtual Dialogue on K-Culture’ with Asia Society Switzerland on the 16th.
The online conference will be held under the theme "K-Pop and Online Content: How K-Pop is Transforming the Entertainment Industry in the Post-COVID Era," with attendees including Lee Geun, Chairman of KF, Kim Young-min, CEO of SM Entertainment, Lee Jang-woo, Co-Representative of the Korean Cultural Industry Forum, and Ko Jang-min, CEO of the Future Industry Strategy Institute.
This event was planned by KF, Korea’s public diplomacy specialized institution, focusing on K-Pop, a key asset of Korean public diplomacy, in cooperation with the Korean Cultural Industry Forum to strengthen Korea’s public diplomacy capabilities in the future.
As the first presenter, Kim Young-min, CEO of SM Entertainment, one of the leading figures of the first generation of Hallyu who successfully led overseas expansion of artists such as BoA and TVXQ, will introduce K-Pop’s innovative efforts centered on online performances in the post-COVID era.
A KF official stated, “Through this opportunity, we expect to introduce the paradigm shift of the K-Entertainment industry in Europe and contribute to leading innovation in the global entertainment industry.”
