Gwangju Gwangsan Police Station Produces and Distributes 'Crime Prevention Broadcast Messages'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] On the 15th, the Gwangsan Police Station in Gwangju announced that it has recorded and produced "crime prevention broadcast messages" and distributed them to 96 schools (including elementary, middle, and high schools) and 275 apartment complexes within its jurisdiction.
The production and distribution of the broadcast messages were promoted in response to the increased need for non-face-to-face crime prevention education due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic, which brought changes such as social distancing among students, staggered attendance, and online education.
The messages, concerning vehicle theft and cyber school violence prevention, were recorded in the voice of the school police officers themselves.
In response to the recent increase in juvenile theft offenders compared to the previous year and the emergence of cyber school violence patterns, efforts were made to enhance crime prevention effects by broadcasting the messages daily through apartment management offices, raising awareness among students and parents.
The broadcast messages were also distributed to school institutions to recognize the importance of crime prevention education at the beginning of school attendance and to promote awareness of crime and school violence among students by airing the messages during breaks such as recess, thereby striving to create a safe and healthy school atmosphere.
