[2021 Early Admission Special] Soongsil University, Largest Scale of 'Liberal Major' in Future Talent Screening
[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Soongsil University will select 2,027 students, about 66% of the total recruitment quota, through early admission.
The SSU Future Talent Admission, a representative comprehensive student record screening, will recruit 728 students. The first stage consists of a 100% comprehensive document evaluation (3 times the number of candidates), and the second stage is conducted with 70% of the first stage score and 30% interview. There is no minimum CSAT score requirement. Within this admission track, the Convergence Specialized Liberal Arts Department has the largest quota with 83 students.
The Equal Opportunity Admission has a recruitment quota of 200 students, similar to last year. Students who qualify as national veterans, rural students, graduates of specialized high schools, or students from the West Sea 5 Islands are encouraged to apply actively.
The Outstanding Student Record Admission will select 479 students. The selection method is 100% based on student record academic grades, same as last year. The minimum CSAT score requirement for the humanities track is a combined grade of 6 or less in two subjects among Korean, Mathematics (Type B), and two inquiry subjects; for the natural sciences track, it is a combined grade of 7 or less in two subjects among Korean, Mathematics (Type A), and two science inquiry subjects. Since the weighting of student record subjects varies by recruitment unit (department), it is important for applicants to understand which subjects they are strong in.
The recruitment quota for the Essay Excellence Admission is 292 students. The selection method is 60% essay and 40% student record academic grades. The science essay has been abolished in the natural sciences essay exam, and the minimum CSAT score requirement is the same as the Outstanding Student Record Admission.

The SW Talent Admission (25 students) selects 100% through the first stage comprehensive document evaluation (3 times the number of candidates), and the second stage applies 70% of the first stage score and 30% blind interview. There is no minimum CSAT score requirement, and teacher recommendations have been abolished. The Arts and Physical Education Excellence Admission (Golf) has been abolished, and from the 2021 academic year, the Arts and Physical Education Excellence Admission (Physical Education) will select outstanding talents in bowling, billiards, and fencing. Early admission applications will be accepted from the 24th to the 28th. The essay exam will be held over two days on December 4th and 5th, and interviews for the comprehensive student record admission will be conducted on December 12th.
