Gwangju Meteorological Administration Hosts Online 'Weather and Climate Photo Exhibition'
16 Award-Winning Works to Be Selected by the 19th of Next Month
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Gwangju Regional Meteorological Administration (Director Lee Miseon) announced on the 15th that it will hold an online meteorological climate photo exhibition in collaboration with the Gwangju Metropolitan City Sustainable Development Council to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day.
The photo exhibition, held until the 19th of next month, will be conducted online in a non-face-to-face manner, allowing local residents to access the site anytime and anywhere to view the award-winning works from the 2020 Meteorological Climate Photo Exhibition while preventing COVID-19 infection.
The online photo exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day selects 16 works from the award-winning entries of the 2020 Meteorological Climate Photo Exhibition titled "Memories of Weather, Records of the People!" It contrasts beautiful natural environment photos with images of the Earth suffering from meteorological disasters and environmental pollution, raising interest and awareness about meteorological climate and alerting people to the climate crisis.
The subtitle of the photo exhibition is "The Earth in Crisis, The Lost Ordinary Days."
Beyond raising interest, awareness, and concern about meteorological climate, it is designed to remember the meteorological climate "records" and the 50th anniversary of Earth Day and to encourage practical action.
