[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Kim Chang-ryong, Commissioner of the National Police Agency, has ordered a strict investigation into the case where a man in his 50s, who was delivering chicken in Incheon, was hit and killed by a drunk driving vehicle.
On the 11th, the National Police Agency stated, "Commissioner Kim Chang-ryong instructed Kim Byung-gu, Chief of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency, to conduct a swift and thorough investigation into the accident to ensure there is no doubt."
The man in his 50s, Mr. A, was delivering chicken on a motorcycle on a one-way two-lane road in Eulwang-dong, Jung-gu, Incheon, around 12:55 a.m. on the 9th, when he was hit and killed by a drunk driving Mercedes-Benz vehicle driven by Ms. B (33, female). At the time of arrest, Ms. B's blood alcohol concentration was found to be over 0.1%, exceeding the license cancellation limit.
On the 10th, Mr. A's daughter posted a petition on the Blue House website demanding severe punishment for the perpetrator, which gained the support of over 360,000 netizens within a day.

A police official said, "We offer our deepest condolences to the petitioner and the bereaved family who suddenly lost their breadwinner," adding, "Considering the seriousness of the case, we have applied for an arrest warrant for the suspect and are conducting a meticulous investigation into the accident-related parties, black box footage, and closed-circuit television (CCTV) to accurately determine the cause of the accident."
