Namwon 90th Miss Chunhyang Jin, Shin Seulgi Appointed

The Chunhyang Selection Contest held on the 10th at the Chunhyang Culture and Arts Center in Namwon, Jeonbuk, has been held annually as part of the Chunhyang Festival since 1950, selecting traditional beauties embodying Korean aesthetics.
At the 90th Chunhyang Festival Chunhyang Selection Contest, Shin Seulgi (23, Seoul, Seoul National University Department of Instrumental Music) was selected as Chunhyang Jin; Kim Tae-eun (22, Seoul, Hanyang University Department of Dance) as Chunhyang Seon; Kim Hyunji (22, Yongin, Gyeonggi, Kookmin University Department of Ceramic Craft) as Mi; Lee Chae-eun (24, Seoul, Ewha Womans University Department of Korean Music) as Jeong; Shin Ji-yeon (24, Canada, University of Toronto Department of Neuroscience) as Suk; and Lim Ye-rang (24, Busan, Busan Catholic University Nursing Graduate) as Hyeon.
Additionally, Kim Hyunji (22, Gyeonggi, Kookmin University Department of Ceramic Craft), who was awarded Chunhyang Mi, was once again honored with the Internet Star Award, selected through a popularity vote on the official website.
On this day, the awards were presented as follows: Chunhyang Jin received a trophy and a prize of 5 million won; Chunhyang Seon received a trophy and 3 million won; Mi received a trophy and 2 million won; Jeong, Suk, and Hyeon each received a trophy and 1 million won. The Internet Star Award recipient was given a prize of 500,000 won.
Meanwhile, this year's Chunhyang Selection Contest featured 32 finalists competing in the final round. The Chunhyang Festival Organizing Committee conducted the first and second preliminary rounds on the 15th of last month, strictly adhering to social distancing and quarantine guidelines. They also canceled the pre-competition training camp for finalists to prioritize safety. In particular, the final round was conducted with enhanced individual in-depth interviews.
