According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 7th, Vice Minister Choi will meet with Koji Domita, the Ambassador of Japan to Korea, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs building in the morning, and in the afternoon, he is scheduled to meet with Xing Haiming, the Ambassador of China to Korea.
This meeting is the first since Vice Minister Choi's appointment and follows his meeting with Harry Harris, the Ambassador of the United States to Korea, serving as an introductory meeting where issues concerning Korea-Japan and Korea-China relations are expected to be broadly discussed.
During the meeting with the Ambassador of Japan to Korea, topics such as the Supreme Court ruling on forced labor compensation during the Japanese colonial period, Japan's unilateral export restrictions, and the upcoming election of the next Japanese Prime Minister are expected to be on the agenda. In the meeting with the Ambassador of China to Korea, discussions are anticipated to cover President Xi Jinping's visit to Korea, the Korea-China-Japan summit, the situation on the Korean Peninsula, and regional affairs.
