'The Woman Who Ran' Hong Sangsoo, Screenplay Award at Bucharest Film Festival
Director Hong Sangsoo's film The Woman Who Ran won the Best Screenplay Award at the 16th Bucharest International Film Festival, which concluded on the 2nd (local time) in Bucharest, Romania. The festival organizers explained the award by stating, "It contains a subtle nuance within an elegant structure centered on a female narrative." Ambassador Kim Yongho of South Korea to Romania attended the award ceremony on behalf of Director Hong to receive the prize. The Woman Who Ran is the winner of the Best Director Award at the 70th Berlin International Film Festival. The film depicts events that unfold as Gamhee meets her past friends while her husband is away on a business trip. The cast includes Kim Minhee, Song Sunmi, Seo Younghwa, Kim Saebyuk, and Kwon Haehyo.
