According to Chungnam Province and Seosan City on the 2nd, Hanwha Eagles pitcher Shin Jeong-rak and Mr. A, who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 on the 31st of last month and the 1st of this month respectively, grilled meat and drank alcohol with five other players on the rooftop of a one-room accommodation in Seosan City, Chungnam Province on the 28th of last month.
On the 28th, various administrative orders equivalent to 'Social Distancing Level 2.5' were in effect nationwide.
From the next day, the 29th, Shin Jeong-rak experienced vomiting, muscle pain, and fever. He moved to Daejeon where his family lives, underwent testing at a screening clinic, and was confirmed positive on the afternoon of the 31st. Shin Jeong-rak was classified as Daejeon case number 264.

On the 1st, the day after Shin Jeong-rak's positive diagnosis, Hanwha Eagles player Mr. A also tested positive for COVID-19. Mr. A was classified as Daejeon case number 275. The health authorities believe that Shin Jeong-rak and Mr. A were infected with COVID-19 while grilling meat on the rooftop of their accommodation.
Immediately after Shin Jeong-rak's positive diagnosis, the health authorities conducted emergency COVID-19 testing on 97 people including Hanwha Eagles players, staff, and training center workers staying at the Seosan training ground (stadium), as well as LG Twins players who played against Hanwha Eagles' second team.
As a result, 50 people tested negative on the 1st, and the remaining 47 all tested negative on the morning of the 2nd.
