The council holds monthly meetings with the executive branch to discuss and communicate on major issues, but on this day, all executive branch reports on current issues except for the report related to the response to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) were canceled.
The council made this decision to allow Changwon City to focus its administrative efforts on preventing the spread of COVID-19.
During the meeting, Planning and Budget Director Ahn Byung-oh reported on measures to secure supplementary budget resources to minimize damage to citizens and the local economy due to the resurgence of COVID-19, and they also discussed response measures at the council level.
Additionally, the city council delivered encouragement supplies to the COVID-19 response comprehensive situation room and to workers at three regional public health centers and screening clinics to commend the efforts of emergency workers who are tirelessly working on the front lines without holidays to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Chairperson Lee Chi-woo said, “I sincerely thank the emergency workers for their dedication and hard work in doing their best to prevent the spread of COVID-19,” and added, “The city council will actively cooperate with the executive branch and actively seek responses and measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”
