Bucheon-si Issues Administrative Order Mandating Passenger List Preparation for Charter Buses
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Hyesook] Bucheon City, Gyeonggi Province, will enforce an administrative order from the 1st until further notice, mandating charter bus operators to create and manage passenger lists to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
This measure was established to prevent difficulties in quarantine measures caused by the failure to properly identify the list of charter bus passengers who recently participated in the Gwanghwamun rally in Seoul.
The order applies to charter buses registered in Bucheon City that are used for one-time events, tourism, or rallies, excluding those used for commuting or school transportation within the region.
Accordingly, charter bus operators are required to verify passengers' QR codes and create electronic entry logs. Passengers who have difficulty creating electronic entry logs, such as those without mobile phones, may have their identity verified and be recorded manually.
The city plans to impose a fine of up to 3 million KRW on charter bus operators who violate the administrative order under the Infectious Disease Prevention and Control Act.
