[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ga-yeon] Four additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed overnight in Gwangju and Jeonnam, bringing the total number of cases to 374 in Gwangju and 144 in Jeonnam. Notably, in Gwangju, a family of five who had attended the Gwanghwamun rally in Seoul and violated the mandatory testing administrative order by hiding were consecutively confirmed positive.
Among them, patient number 373, residing in Yangsan-dong, Buk-gu, was identified as an attendee of the Gwanghwamun rally, and a total of five family members of patient 373 tested positive. These five family members were found to have violated the quarantine authorities' administrative order to undergo mandatory testing after attending the Gwanghwamun rally. Despite receiving calls from the police who tracked their location via mobile phone GPS, they reportedly concealed their attendance at the rally.
