On the 29th, Governor Won instructed, "We will launch a strong crackdown on illegal nighttime parties at guesthouses and other places that could nullify the nationwide COVID-19 prevention efforts with an 'arrogant disregard' attitude."
He continued, "It was thanks to the efforts and dedication of the residents that we were able to maintain a clean Jeju," and emphasized, "For the sake of the residents who are participating in prevention efforts even at this very moment, illegal nighttime parties at guesthouses and other places must be eradicated."
Accordingly, Jeju Province formed a joint crackdown team consisting of about 40 personnel including provincial administrative staff and the autonomous police unit, and decided to conduct a strong crackdown across the entire province starting at 5 p.m. on the 29th.
