SRT Chuseok Tickets Priority Allocation for Seniors and Disabled... Pre-registration Starts Today
[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] The pre-registration for senior citizens and disabled persons to book SRT Chuseok train tickets began at 2 p.m. on the 28th.
SR will sell this year's Chuseok train tickets 100% non-face-to-face for three days from the 8th to the 10th of next month to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The booking targets are tickets for all SRT trains operating for six days from September 29 to October 4.
Considering IT device accessibility, the booking process is divided into senior/disabled pre-booking and general booking. From 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the 8th of next month, 10% of the seats will be reserved for advance booking by seniors and disabled persons.
To participate in the advance booking, one must register as a member on the SRT ticket booking website from 2 p.m. on the 28th until 6 p.m. on the 3rd of next month.
Seniors aged 65 or older automatically qualify based on their date of birth upon membership registration, and disabled persons must register their welfare card during membership sign-up. Those who are both seniors and disabled can participate in advance booking simply by registering as a member.
If seniors or disabled persons have difficulty using IT devices and cannot register as members, up to 500 people on a first-come, first-served basis can book tickets by calling the SR Customer Center.
General booking will proceed from 7 a.m. on the 9th for the Gyeongbu Line and on the 10th for the Honam Line, and seniors and disabled persons who missed the advance booking on the 8th can book again on these days.
Reserved tickets will be automatically canceled if payment is not completed between 3 p.m. on the 10th and midnight on the 14th of next month.
