According to Pohang City on the 27th, the construction project of Gukjido 20 (Hyoja~Sangwon), promoted by Gyeongbuk Province and Pohang City, will be carried out with a total budget of 66.2 billion KRW.
Dongbin Bridge (tentative name) is a section included in Gukjido 20 and will be constructed as a 395-meter-long cable-stayed bridge, similar in style to Seohae Bridge and Incheon Bridge. This bridge will include an observatory and is expected to become a new landmark of the region along with the Pohang Canal.
During the project, there were difficulties due to opposition from nearby residents concerned about obstruction of views, noise, and vibrations, but Pohang City resolved these complaints by modifying the design, including the intersection structure and longitudinal gradient.

He added, "It is expected to greatly contribute to alleviating chronic traffic congestion in the city center and to revitalizing the local economy as a landmark of Pohang, a marine tourism city."
