On the 26th, former lawmaker Cha referred to Professor Jin's column on his Facebook, criticizing, "Jin Jung-kwon's labeling of the liberal right-wing camp as nationalist has no basis at all," and added, "He says the liberal right-wing is totalitarian because they wage a regime war. What kind of nonsense is this?"
He strongly condemned, "Jin Jung-kwon is playing word games as if a child who has just started learning to speak is using words without understanding their meaning."
He continued, "Jin Jung-kwon is ignorant and frivolous," and argued, "The left is now imposing a COVID-19 martial law, erasing individual freedom and human rights, which is a product of their totalitarian ideology. That is why the liberal right-wing is fighting a regime war with them, telling them not to politicize quarantine measures."
He added, "Even looking at the history of the right-wing in South Korea introduced by Jin Jung-kwon, there is no basis to label it as nationalist," and said, "He lacks a central and consistent historical understanding. He cannot distinguish between the liberal right-wing and totalitarianism. Jin Jung-kwon's sophistry is becoming another virus in the minds of the Korean people."
In response, Professor Jin posted a piece titled 'Cha Myung-jin's Four Evils' on his Facebook, countering former lawmaker Cha's criticism.
Professor Jin said, "First, he committed a sin against himself. Despite social warnings, he attended a high-risk infection rally and got infected, so the responsibility lies entirely with him," and added, "Second, he did something unforgivable to his family. He is not a rebellious teenager but a man nearing sixty, yet he recklessly hurt his mother’s heart. Even if late, I advise him to grow up now."
He continued, "Third, he burdened the national finances. Cha Myung-jin is receiving free treatment. In a financially difficult situation due to the COVID-19 crisis, he is wasting the country's treasury with unnecessary actions," and pointed out, "Fourth, he inflicted political damage on the conservative camp. The ruling party hastily lifted the alert mode, but the blame was unfairly placed on the innocent conservatives, which only boosted the ruling party and president’s approval ratings."

He concluded, "In short, he destroyed his body with useless foolish acts, was unfilial to his parents, disloyal to the country, and committed the act," and strongly criticized, "In one word, the relationship between Cha Myung-jin and South Korea is like the relationship between the coronavirus and Cha Myung-jin’s body."
