Uljin-gun Invests 2.9 Billion Won to Remodel 'Heungbu Market'... Transforming It into the Hub of Buk-myeon
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Park Dong-wook] Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province announced on the 27th that it will actively promote the 'Buk-myeon Rural Hub Revitalization Project' as part of the General Rural and Fishing Village Development Project.
The 'Buk-myeon Rural Hub Revitalization Project' was selected in 2018 as a general district public contest project by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs. With a total project cost of 3.9 billion KRW (including 2.7 billion KRW in national funds), the project will develop Heungbu Market, Bugoo Hanmaeum Rest Area, and a public parking lot in the Bugoo-ri area of Buk-myeon, along with regional capacity-building projects for residents of the area and surrounding villages.
In particular, 2.9 billion KRW will be invested in remodeling the aging market buildings of Heungbu Market into a modern structure with one above-ground floor, consisting of five buildings and 28 stores. Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of September, aiming for completion by the end of May next year. Additionally, the Bugoo Hanmaeum Rest Area and public parking lot projects will start construction in the first half of next year and be completed by August.
