After Clocking In on the 25th, Immediate Leave Recommended by Company
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] A confirmed case of COVID-19 has been reported at Kia Motors' Sohari plant.
According to Kia Motors on the 27th, one employee at the Sohari plant tested positive for COVID-19 on that day. This employee did not go to work on the 24th because their spouse showed COVID-19 symptoms. However, on the following day, the 25th, after the spouse was tested for COVID-19 and their temperature stabilized, and since the employee had no particular symptoms, they went to work but left immediately upon the company's recommendation. On the 26th, the spouse tested positive for COVID-19, and the employee who was subsequently tested also received a positive result on the same day.
The employee resides in the Kia dormitory, so the possibility of further transmission cannot be ruled out. Currently, three Kia employees who had contact with the confirmed employee are undergoing COVID-19 testing and are awaiting results. Kia Motors is reported to have conducted disinfection of the related dormitory on the 26th, the day the employee's spouse was confirmed positive.
