Samsung Electronics announced on the 26th that it has donated more than 4 million dollars in the United States to support COVID-19 relief efforts.

[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] Samsung Electronics has donated more than $4 million (approximately 4.75 billion KRW) to COVID-19 relief efforts in the United States.
On the 26th, Samsung Electronics announced through its U.S. newsroom that since the outbreak of COVID-19, it has been collaborating with partner organizations to provide various forms of support to communities in need, donating over $4 million to local communities in New Jersey, California, Texas, and other areas.
Local nonprofit organizations used Samsung Electronics' donations to provide food and daily necessities to vulnerable groups and also supported employment and childcare. They also distributed about 100,000 personal protective equipment items, including masks and protective suits, to medical personnel.
Samsung Electronics' U.S. subsidiary plans to continue related support steadily, anticipating that the COVID-19 pandemic will persist. In October, employees will also participate directly in volunteer activities.
Following Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong's 'Together' vision, Samsung has been leading various support efforts to overcome COVID-19 both domestically and internationally since the beginning of the year.
Domestically, in the first half of this year, Samsung provided treatment centers at the Samsung Yeongdeok Training Center and Samsung Life Jeonju Training Center and dispatched medical staff. Additionally, 14 affiliates including Samsung Electronics donated relief funds and supplies worth 30 billion KRW, and to revitalize the domestic economy, purchased 30 billion KRW worth of Onnuri gift certificates to distribute to partner companies.
Amid the recent resurgence of COVID-19 centered in the metropolitan area, Samsung also announced that it would provide two in-house training centers?the Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance Global Campus in Goyang and the Samsung C&T International Business Institute in Yongin?as COVID-19 residential treatment centers.

Overseas, in January, Samsung Electronics donated relief supplies worth 30 million yuan (approximately 5.13 billion KRW), including medical masks and protective suits, to China, and in June, transferred smart factory technology to a local mask manufacturer in Poland.
