Chungbuk, Year-Round Continuous Crackdown on 'Overloaded Vehicles'
[Asia Economy (Chungbuk) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungbuk Province will conduct year-round crackdowns on road management violations such as overloaded vehicles.
The Provincial Road Management Office announced on the 24th that it will carry out continuous mobile crackdowns throughout the year on violations of vehicle road operation restrictions on 48 delegated national and local roads within the jurisdiction.
The crackdown targets vehicles operating on roads within the jurisdiction that exceed the limits specified in Article 79 of the Road Act Enforcement Decree: weight over 40 tons, axle load over 10 tons, length over 16.7 meters, width over 2.5 meters, and height over 4.0 meters.
The Provincial Road Management Office focuses crackdowns mainly around industrial complexes and construction sites where violations are frequent, and continuously conducts special crackdowns during nighttime (6 PM to 12 AM) and early morning (12 AM to 9 AM) hours when freight vehicle traffic is heavy.
As of this month, a total of 672 vehicles have been inspected, with 22 violations detected among them.
