Yeonggwang-gun Strengthens Disinfection to Prevent Infectious Diseases in Flood-Affected Areas
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 21st that it will strengthen quarantine disinfection to block infectious diseases targeting houses and livestock sheds damaged by flooding.
The health center and the eup/myeon offices established a flood-affected area infectious disease prevention disinfection plan and carried out rapid quarantine measures such as fogging disinfection, spraying, and indoor/outdoor sterilization centered on 285 teams and 1,190 people, including autonomous quarantine teams.

A health center official said, “Flood-affected areas have an increased risk of food poisoning caused by waterborne infectious diseases such as bacterial dysentery, typhoid fever, and enterohemorrhagic E. coli, so please follow infectious disease prevention rules such as proper handwashing, drinking boiled water, eating thoroughly cooked food, washing vegetables and fruits cleanly and peeling them before eating, disinfecting cutting boards, and using separate cooking utensils.”
