View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunju Lee] Seoul National University of Science and Technology announced on the 21st that Professor Young-Il Kim of the Department of Architecture was selected as the recipient of the 30th Excellent Science and Technology Paper Award in the engineering category, established and awarded by the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies. The Excellent Science and Technology Paper Award was created to select and honor scientists who have published outstanding papers through creative research activities, thereby boosting research motivation and morale and contributing to the advancement of science and technology. The paper published by Professor Kim is titled "Analysis of Initial Investment Costs for Electric Heater Type, Air Source, and Geothermal Heat Pump Type Agricultural Product Hot Air Dryers." It compared the initial investment costs for drying capacities of 50, 200, 500, and 1,000 kg for electric heater type, air source heat pump type, and geothermal heat pump type agricultural product hot air dryers, with the initial investment costs ranking highest in the order of electric heater type, air source heat pump type, and geothermal heat pump type. This paper was recommended by the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers and received the award in the engineering category.
