Ryan Heads to Taiwan... Kakao Friends Taipei Store Opens
[Asia Economy Reporter Bu Aeri] Kakao's character brand 'Kakao Friends' will open its first official store in Taipei, Taiwan on the 22nd.
Kakao IX, which operates Kakao Friends stores, announced on the 20th, "The Taipei store is the first official store introduced in the Greater China region." The store is located in Xinyi District, a shopping hub near the 'Taipei 101 Tower.'
A Taiwan-specialized product line called 'Friends in Taiwan,' available only at the Taipei store, will also be launched. The concept features Kakao Friends characters traveling around Taipei on scooters, incorporating landmarks and food items symbolic of Taiwan.
The store interior and product lineup have been differentiated to reflect Taiwan's unique characteristics. Upon entering the store, customers can see a photo zone decorated with Ryan riding a scooter and Kakao Friends characters enjoying milk tea.
To celebrate the opening of the Taipei store, Kakao Friends has prepared events for customers. From the 22nd to the 23rd, customers who purchase over 399 New Taiwan Dollars (NTD) will receive a 'Ryan balloon,' and those who sign up as Kakao Friends members will be given a 'Helmet Ryan fan.'
