Han Seong-sook, CEO of Naver, attended a talk concert on the theme of 'Future Social Changes and Educational Innovation' held at the National Assembly on the 19th, and responded to the question, "What kind of talent does Naver want?" with this statement.
CEO Han said, "We need talent who can read the vast amount of generated data and observe its flow," adding, "Rather than an omnipotent individual, we need people who can interpret trends held by many."
She also emphasized, "There is a lot of talk about talent who communicate well and are creative, but being creative does not mean doing everything as one pleases," and stressed, "Proper training is absolutely necessary."
Regarding changes in companies in the future society, CEO Han said, "The transition from PC to mobile was also difficult. At that time, there were many talks that 'Naver will fail because it is slow,'" and added, "Even now, it is difficult to predict how things will go while experiencing the COVID-19 situation."
Nevertheless, she predicted, "In a situation where no one knows what will happen, 'digital transformation' is the basic direction for all companies," and said, "Regardless of who you are, it will be difficult to do business without digital in the future."
CEO Han explained, "Despite that, if I were to say what I am proud of while running a platform business in Korea, it is that we have created things suited to the Korean market and focused on users to develop business models that did not exist before."
