Dobong-gu Operates 'Library Wisdom School' for New Middle-aged Generation
12-Week Independent Humanities Deepening Activities with Seoul National University Humanities Professors
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dobong-gu (Mayor Lee Dong-jin) Dobong Cultural Foundation will operate the 'Library Wisdom School' from August 27 to November 27 to support the Shinjungnyeon generation who strive to live happily and youthfully.
At Dobong Cultural Information Library, lectures will be held on ▲ 'Wisdom of Coexistence' (Professor Koo Hyung-chan, Seoul National University) from August 27 to November 19, which explores humanity's ability to coexist and contemplates solving problems encountered with diverse people, and ▲ 'Wisdom to Understand Humans through Language' (Professor Park Na-young, Seoul National University) from August 28 to November 27, which teaches how to understand others by understanding the language one uses.
At Ssangmun Chaeum Library, from September 3 to November 26, a lecture on 'Wisdom Gained through Art' (Professor Cho Sun-woo, Seoul National University) will be offered, teaching various insights to understand artworks.
Lectures can be applied for on the Dobong-gu Integrated Library website.
Dobong Cultural Information Library is recruiting until August 20, and Ssangmun Chaeum Library until August 31.
Lee Dong-jin, Mayor of Dobong-gu, said, "Through the Library Wisdom School, we expect it will help cultivate a mature and wise Shinjungnyeon model by supporting proactive humanities deepening activities for the middle-aged generation."

'Library Wisdom School' is a humanities deepening program supported by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Publication Industry Promotion Agency, involving humanities professors in charge at universities nationwide and 73 public libraries.
