KOCCA Supports Jobs for 160 Content Localization Specialists
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Creative Content Agency announced on the 6th that they will launch the 'Export Content Localization Job Support' project to support jobs in the content sector.
This project focuses on supporting content localization tasks such as producing export content, overseas marketing, local language translation, and overseas information gathering. The purpose is to prepare for the resumption of overseas content expansion after the COVID-19 pandemic.
The support targets companies in genres such as broadcasting, games, comics (webtoons), animation, characters, music, storytelling, and films that have immediate export demand or concrete localization plans.
About 80 selected companies can receive support for labor costs of up to 2 million KRW per month for 5 months for 2 new personnel engaged in export-related tasks such as producing promotional marketing content for export, remaking existing promotional marketing content in local languages, and gathering overseas market information.

Park Seung-ryong, head of the Overseas Business Division at the Korea Creative Content Agency, said, "This project was prepared to overcome the short-term job crisis during the COVID-19 period," adding, "Even when export-related events are canceled, this emergency funding aims to ensure that corporate activities for content export are not interrupted and that professionals do not face job crises."
