[Police Senior Profile] Kim Byung-gu, New Chief of Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-ju] Kim Byung-gu, Chief of Jeju Provincial Police Agency, was promoted and appointed as Chief of Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency on the 4th.
Chief Kim is originally from Masan, Gyeongnam. He graduated from Gyeongsang High School in Gyeongnam, the Police University majoring in Law, and Korea University Graduate School. He entered the police force in 1989 as part of the 5th class of the Police University. He has served as Chief of Changnyeong Police Station in Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency, Chief of Gwacheon Police Station in Gyeonggi Provincial Police Agency, Head of the Anti-Terrorism Center at the Police Agency Security Bureau, Commander of the 1st Mobile Unit and Head of Security Division 1 in the Security Department of Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. After being promoted to Commissioner General in July last year, he served as Director of the Police Agency Security Bureau and then as Chief of Jeju Police Agency.
