Ssangyong Motor, 7,489 Units Sold in July... 30.6% Decrease Compared to Same Period Last Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] SsangYong Motor announced that it sold a total of 7,489 units in July, a 30.6% decrease compared to the same month last year.
SsangYong Motor disclosed these results on the 3rd through the Financial Supervisory Service's electronic disclosure system.
Looking at the specific figures, domestic sales were 6,702 units, and exports were 787 units. In particular, domestic sales, which had recorded an upward trend for two consecutive months since April, decreased by 23% compared to the same month last year. SsangYong Motor explained this performance as "the impact of reduced domestic demand stimulation measures such as the reduction of individual consumption tax cuts amid the global demand not recovering due to the COVID-19 pandemic."
Exports also recorded a 62.1% decrease compared to the same month last year, as demand contraction continued due to concerns over the resurgence of COVID-19 in some key European markets.
