COVID-19 Cases Reported in Mississippi and Indiana as US Schools Resume Classes

According to foreign media including CNN on the 1st (local time), the Corinth School District in Mississippi reported that a student at a high school in the district tested positive for COVID-19 during the first week of resumed classes. The Corinth School District conducted contact tracing with the infected student at the school, and all individuals who had contact with the student were instructed to quarantine at home for 14 days.
In Indiana, a student at a high school in Hancock County also tested positive for COVID-19. This student attended classes on the first day of school, the 30th of last month, and was later diagnosed as a COVID-19 patient. Superintendent Harold Olin stated in a letter to parents that the pre-established "COVID-19 Positive Test Protocol" was activated immediately upon learning of the positive test result.
