Hanjin Co., Ltd. Establishes and Operates Safety Officers by Regional Headquarters
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Je-hoon] Hanjin Co., Ltd. announced on the 31st that it will establish and operate a Safety Officer System by regional headquarters. Accordingly, earlier this month, Hanjin selected one experienced employee from each of the six regional headquarters (Capital Area, Gyeongin, Busan, Yeongnam, Honam, and Jungbu) and appointed them as Safety Officers.
Hanjin has previously promoted safety activities through a company-wide system including ▲Safety and Health Executive ▲Safety and Health General Manager ▲On-site Supervisors, but recently introduced the Safety Officer role due to growing social interest in industrial safety, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and strengthening safety in logistics facilities.
Safety Officers complete essential training on safety-related policies and regulations, risk assessment, safety inspections, investigations, and analysis management, and perform duties such as ▲checking compliance with relevant laws and internal regulations ▲conducting regular on-site safety inspections and identifying areas for improvement ▲guiding workers to comply with safety rules ▲supporting safety and health tasks.
