'Heavy Rain Warning' Issued for All Areas in Jeonbuk Province
Heavy Rain Expected at 50-80mm per Hour
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hong Jaehee] Continuous heavy monsoon rains have led to heavy rain warnings being issued for 14 cities and counties in Jeonbuk.
On the 30th, the Korea Meteorological Administration forecasted that rain would fall over most of the province and cease around 9 PM, but significant damage is expected.
Heavy rain advisories were issued for Sunchang, Namwon, Jeongeup, Imsil, Gochang, and Jangsu, while heavy rain warnings were in effect as of 9:20 AM for the entire areas of Jeonju, Iksan, Muju, Jinan, Wanju, Gimje, Gunsan, and Buan.
The KMA predicted that some regions would experience thunder and lightning along with heavy rainfall of 50 to 80 mm per hour.
Additionally, the total expected precipitation is 50 to 150 mm, with some areas forecasted to receive over 200 mm.

The KMA stated, “The ground is weakened due to recent heavy rains,” and warned, “Additional damage such as landslides and retaining wall collapses is expected, so please exercise special caution.”
