About 100 people, including Moon Jun-hee, Mayor of Hapcheon-gun, council members Jang Jin-young and Shin Myung-gi, Promotion Committee Chairman Song Young-hwa, Gaya-myeon Chief Jeong Soon-jae, as well as promotion committee members and residents, participated in the forum.
On that day, the attendees started with an ice-breaking activity, shared the preliminary plan for the rural center revitalization project in Gaya-myeon, and exchanged various opinions on the development direction for establishing the basic plan.
This project was selected through a 100-person forum in September 2018 and was chosen as a public contest project by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs in August last year.
Furthermore, by 2024, with a total project cost of 16 billion KRW including 12.7 billion KRW in national and provincial funds, the project plans to promote major initiatives such as expanding cultural and welfare functions in the township area to improve residents' living conditions and linking services to the surrounding villages.
Moon Jun-hee, Mayor of Hapcheon-gun, said, “If the residents of Gaya-myeon become the main actors and wish for the development of Gaya-myeon with one heart more than anyone else, it will surely be achieved,” and added, “I hope that Gaya-myeon will regain its former status through the results derived from today’s grand forum.”
