Hyundai Motor Group Appoints Lee Yong-woo as CEO of Innocean
[Asia Economy Reporter Suyeon Woo] On the 29th, Hyundai Motor Group carried out an extraordinary executive appointment, naming Lee Yong-woo, Vice President of the Genesis Business Division (photo), as the CEO of Innocean.
The newly appointed Mr. Lee is recognized in the industry for his outstanding global business capabilities, having served as head of Hyundai Motor's Genesis Business Division, North America Regional Headquarters, and Brazil Corporation. He also previously served as head of Innocean's Americas Regional Headquarters, giving him a deep understanding of Innocean's business and organization.
For this reason, he is considered the right person to lead sustainable growth by accelerating business strategies such as expanding Innocean's global business areas and enhancing digital and content capabilities.
Along with this, Hyundai Motor Group appointed Song Mi-young, Executive Director and Head of Talent Development Team 1 at Hyundai-Kia Motors, as the Director of the Talent Development Institute. Executive Director Song is an expert with specialized knowledge and diverse practical experience in talent development, tasked with establishing and implementing employee capability development strategies that reflect future business strategies.
Hyundai Motor Group explained that this executive appointment is aimed at actively responding to changes in the global business environment caused by the spread of COVID-19 and strengthening internal capabilities linked to new business strategies. Additionally, Executive Director Song's appointment is part of Hyundai Motor Group's ongoing performance- and capability-centered personnel management.

Meanwhile, Han Sung-kwon, President in charge of Hyundai Motor's commercial vehicles, and Ahn Gun-hee, President of Innocean, were each appointed as advisors. Former President Han led Hyundai Motor's commercial vehicle business for over four years since 2016, laying the foundation for business innovation centered on eco-friendly vehicles, including the world's first mass production of hydrogen electric trucks. Former President Ahn served as CEO of Innocean for about 11 years and is credited with significantly contributing to Innocean's growth into a global marketing communications company.
