Seoul, Busan, and Over 10 Local Governments Hold Special Promotional Events for Performance Tourism
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heung-soon] The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 29th that from August to October, special promotional events for performance tourism will be held in more than 10 local governments nationwide, including Seoul, Busan, Andong, Gangneung, and Mokpo.
Hosted by the Korea Tourism Organization and the Korea Performance Tourism Association, the official name of this event is "Cheer Up Korea!, Performance Travel." The event will begin on August 1st in Nami Island and Andong. About 20 performances such as "Nanta," "Jump," "Saranghamyeon Chumeul Chweora (Sachum 2)," and "Painters" will be held.
The event scenes will be broadcast via social media and other platforms to promote performance tourism to overseas tourists who cannot visit Korea due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
All event schedules will be conducted in compliance with quarantine guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19, limiting the maximum number of attendees to under 100 people.
