According to Gyeongbuk Province on the 28th, a 62-year-old man who arrived from Africa through Incheon Airport on the 26th tested positive the next day and was admitted to Andong Medical Center. The man, who has an address in Andong, is believed to have stayed in Africa since November of last year.
Accordingly, as of midnight on the same day, the number of confirmed cases in the Gyeongbuk area increased to 1,355 (54 in Andong City). The number of recovered patients and deaths remained the same as the previous day at 1,293 (95.4%) and 58, respectively.
In the Gyeongbuk area, sporadic overseas imported cases have been reported, including a man in his 30s who entered Pohang City from Mexico on the 19th, a woman in her 30s who entered Chilgok County from the Philippines on the 20th, and a 65-year-old Uzbek man who entered Yeongju City from the United Kingdom on the 23rd. The confirmed case on the 19th was the first in 13 days. However, community infections have not been confirmed for 22 consecutive days.
