View original image[Asia Economy (Asan) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] One overseas entrant in Asan, Chungnam, has been confirmed positive for the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
According to Chungnam Province on the 28th, Mr. A, a man in his 30s, entered the country through Incheon Airport from Uzbekistan on the 14th.
At the time of entry, Mr. A tested negative for COVID-19 and then moved to Asan to undergo self-quarantine.
However, on the 13th day of self-quarantine, the 27th, he tested positive in a retest and is currently hospitalized and receiving treatment at Cheonan Medical Center.
This case, where the test result changed from negative to positive on the 13th day of self-quarantine retesting, is the fifth such case in Chungnam.
The province also conducted a diagnostic test on Mr. A’s wife, who was classified as a close contact (on the 27th), but the result was confirmed to be negative.
Meanwhile, as of 9 a.m. on the 28th, the total number of overseas entrants confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Chungnam is 31.
